First, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate John Carney on his victory. I wish him well in his second term representing the state of Delaware. Next, I want to thank my wife Maria and daughter Virginia for all their love and support during this campaign. Without them, this run would not have been possible. Finally, I would like to thank ALL of you for your support in this campaign. I can’t express how humbled I am and how much I appreciate everything everyone has done since we started this back in July. Your efforts will never be forgotten by me and my family.
I want to caution anyone on being disappointed in today’s results. We more than doubled our 2010 totals and increased our vote total from the last Presidential election by over 13%. And, in 2008, there wasn’t another 3rd party candidate in the race! We knew victory wasn’t in our grasp, so there is NOTHING to hang our heads about here.
So what about the future? We will go over the data with a fine tooth comb. We will learn from this experience and build on what we accomplished. We will move forward, gathering feedback from party members and all the Libertarian Candidates that did so well in this election, and plan for 2014. If we haven’t made it clear to the major parties in this state, I’ll take the liberty to make it now. We are here, we are growing and we are NOT going away!!
